​Future Best Friends

Our camp acculturates its members and the greater community by strongly promoting at least four out of the Ten Principles: Radical Inclusion, Gifting, Participation, and Immediacy. Radical Inclusion is invoked through the belief that anyone and everyone is invited to recognize the experiences they’re going through on the Playa. Everyone had, has, or will have a profound connection with someone else; everyone is a part of this, and we want them to know it. Gifting is evidently demonstrated by the offering of our BRC-FBF-2014 necklaces to the Burning Man community, to be shared and hopefully embraced by those near and far. Participation echoes the premises of Radical Inclusion, but goes one step further by allowing those on the Playa to see where our Future Best Friend has been and what they believe in. It gives the FBF an opportunity to relay to others at least one amazing thing they’ve been a part of, and hey, maybe those others should be a part of it too. Immediacy is realized through the act of being present in the wonderful world as we know it, and calling attention to all the wonder in it...the place, the people, and the shared experiences.

Did you meet your future best friend this week?

 

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

1 pm - 4 pm

 

An open house for people around the Playa to come to us and receive their Burning Man best friend necklaces. This reception will include a recited pledge for their Future Best Friendship, the gifting of the necklaces, sharing the story of how they met, and general carousing and/or counseling.

Have you partied harder and stayed out later than you should have for Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO)? Have you gone out even when you really felt like staying in, just to not miss a second of the most crazy fun that you KNOW everyone's having? You're not alone. Come to our group therapy where we can commiserate our FOMO troubles and struggles, share a laugh, share a cry, and then dance our asses off into the night......together.
