Your financial gift to the camp

 

Camp contributions are $70 per person. Of that $70, $27 are for the best friend necklaces that we are handing out, $10 are for shared kitchen costs, and $33 are for shade/lights/shower. You're welcome to look at our Camp Budget for a more complete breakdown of costs.

 

Some campers have expressed interest in contributing more than the suggested donation. While it is absolutely not required to pay for more than what we are asking, we're not ones to turn down options that would beautify our camp and make it better overall. Thank you so much for anything you could spare and share.

 

Currently, we are not offering a meal plan for Burning Man 2014. As the camp grows, and with it need and interest, this might be a viable option in the future. However, we are open to arranging shared kitchens; post a note on our Facebook page for further coordination.

Personal Budgeting Considerations

 

Please make sure that in addition to your Burning Man ticket price (approx $400) and travel costs, you budget for the following:

• $60 – camp contribution, as listed above (for expenses, infrastructure, etc.)

• $200 – approx bike rental cost if you don’t have a bike

• $150 - approximately- your ride into and out of the playa; unless you’re driving your own car, you’ll probably be in someone else’s car and will need to pay for your share of gas, cleaning expense and, if a rental, rental car fees;

• $100 – food, drinks, alcohol — as we are not offering a meal plan yet, food and drink costs are your own to cover. (You’ll probably consume about 25 percent of the food you think you need; save yourself some money and buy a fraction of the food you think you should buy, or share kitchens with fellow campers);

• $30-$50 -  ice and coffee on playa (if you need it)

• $0 – gifts — no need to buy/bring/make gifts other than what we're offering to the Burning Man community (unless you want to, of course)
